Food and Society

Food and Society

This is an interdisciplinary, multi-level group that will focus on how food studies can offer integrated learning opportunities in K-12 and beyond. One goal of the group is to provide curricular materials for use in K-12 classrooms/programs, addressing a wide range of content areas. Possible activities of group members could involve: writing about food in society as a means to define and support the group's curricular output; collaborating with existing organizations that have food education programs to include their free content here; discussing an overall curricular framework for integrating food studies across the K-12 curriculum; researching relevant open source material; creating and populating project collections in special topics; developing and documenting food experiments or investigations for students; and more.
